So here we are finally mobilzing with the website to the point that content will begin to flow. Most of everything is up, and all while improvement is an never endeavor with this website, the move from what it was previousely to what it is now was increibly easy and that has a lot to do with the CMS I decided to stick with, Drupal.
No, I'm not paid in any way to bring up the company, but the opensource web development tools are great to work with for me and allowed me to quickly revamp this website. To be honest, once I've started with a Drupal site I haven't built a standard html Dreamweaver type of static site since. My problem, though is I generally tend to find a theme and then mangle it to my customizations rather than starting from scratch...am I the only one?
Right now we're running version 7. This version is fresh so it's expected to be limited, but there's a lot for there to grow as far as modules, however the improvements on the behind-the-scenes-perspectives of this version can't be beat to other websites I've managed. This version allows so much more, so I'm excited what will be developed because of the ease that has come with the managing side of things.
As far as the active perspective of this website, I'm hoping the blog will take on a life of its own, but I also hope it will allow people who may be interestested in working with me see a human behind this endeavor...my career in design and creativity.
Anyway, back to the nerdy web developing stuff... yeah, the move to this version of Drupal was easy, and of course I mangled the CSS to fit to my likings and to begin the long road of hacks I plan to add to this website, but it is a nice platform to begin with as I totally destroyed the last version. It was time to grow and sometimes I like to just smash things and pick up what's salvageable. Here's what's left.
